11 Dec Tis the Season to be Thankful
I have heard it many times at conferences and training events when the wonderful people that make up the financial aid profession all gather, that no one knowingly sets out to become a financial aid professional. But once the profession takes you in, it is difficult to leave. This is my grateful thank you to all of the extremely loyal financial aid professionals that I have had the pleasure of learning from in my now 14-year career in financial aid. You have stuck-it-out in an ever-changing, regulatory exhaustive profession, and without your collective expertise, the rest of us would be lost.
Loyalty to a career these days is a quickly dying trend, so here are just some of the things I am grateful for this season from the financial aid lifers out there:
Leading us through the constant battle of regulation updates and changes,
Open door for hearing out frustrations and providing solutions,
Your constant lookout to keep the rest of us informed,
Always keeping the student perspective in mind.
Learning on-the-fly,
Teamwork first,
You.
