Work (noun): the labor, task, or duty that is one’s accustomed means of livelihood.

Work should be taken seriously. But who says we can’t have fun and be productive at the same time? Studies show that incorporating fun in the workplace can lead to enhanced motivation, increased productivity, reduced stress, and higher job satisfaction.

Here are 5 ways you can create a fun and happy workplace:

  1. Humor

We all have a tendency to take ourselves too seriously.  Being able to laugh and joke around as an office creates a fun and happy environment. Laughter can reduce stress, anxiety, and strengthen your immune system.

  1. Games and activities

Organize games and activities that you can do with co-workers. This builds a sense of community and camaraderie.

  1. Celebrations

Take time to celebrate birthdays, achievements, and milestones to show your team that they are valued.

  1. Decorate your workspace

Decorate your office with things that make you happy.

  1. Encourage and support your team

Get to know your team members. Stop to say hello and ask how they are doing. Create an inclusive and supportive work environment which will open the doors for effective communication.

Be the energy that you want to attract. Positive energy is contagious!
