CAFAA Conference 2017 Recap

CAFAA Conference 2017 Recap

Having wrapped up our 50th Anniversary Conference in Beautiful Breckenridge – we need to give a shout out to Beth Romba and her Conference Committee for all their hard work in making this conference a special one!

The weather was perfect and the backdrop of the mountains was breathtaking. It was here where we welcomed over 41 first-timers (largest group that I can remember!).

We honored 9 Life Members at the banquet. They shared their stories of what they were doing currently, gave us words of wisdom and shared their humorous financial aid stories. Some of them even stayed to hear the Federal Updates. For those of you who know Bernie Clements, he turned to me afterwards and asked What the h*** is PPY and DRT”. Gotta love them!

Everyone looked so beautiful and handsome in their cocktail attire . . . it’s amazing what a shower does! Interesting tidbit: While in the shower: 2% washing, 8% singing, 90% making life decisions. Lesson here: when making life decisions . . . shower. You’ll be happy you did!

Thank you to our RMASFAA President, Vicki Kucera, for driving over 7 hours just to see our smiling faces and of course to give us a RMASFAA update! We loved having you!

We raised approximately $1000 through our silent auction – all proceeds were donated to the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County.

It doesn’t take much to excite Karla Nash . . .
