Hello CAFAA!
Is it just me, or has 2016 been a whirlwind year so far?! With that being said, can you believe the 2016 CAFAA Conference is just a few weeks away! Many of you may have been caught off guard with how quickly it came up this year, since it is our first conference to be held in the spring.
This conference, we have a great theme (Financial Aid: New Rules, Same Game), agenda, and new experiences to be had by all. This year as we team up with our K-12 partners around the state, we have had the challenge of choosing which amazing session proposals to select. We had so many wonderful proposals and I would like to thank everyone who submitted a proposal this year. If you haven’t had a chance to go look at the Agenda yet, you should… like right now… I’ll wait…
Now that you’ve looked at the agenda, you may be able to tell from the titles that we are spanning several topics this year. We are kicking off the conference with a session like we have never done before. 17/18 FAFSA – Meeting the Challenge Through Connection, Collaboration and Strengthening Pathways is an interactive session where we will explore the upcoming challenges with the 17/18 FAFSA and will be led by leaders from our community. We also have sessions on FAFSA, CESDA, Diversity, State and Federal Tools, Strengthening partnerships, and scholarships to name a few! We have great speakers and sessions lined up for this year. If that isn’t enough of a reason to go register for the conference, we will also have lots of opportunity to interact with our friends around the state at the welcome reception, dinners, game night, and mixer! As Nick challenged us in his recent blog post to make new friends, these events make great opportunities to branch out!
