22 Jun 2015 RMASFAA/CAFAA Conference
There are so many exciting things happening in the world of CAFAA and RMASFAA right now – and trust me, I should know! As the Vice President of CAFAA and the conference co-chair for this year’s combined state and regional conference, I’m becoming a master of spinning plates all at once – WHILE counseling about financial aid of course!
For those of you lucky enough to attend the RMASFAA Summer Institute in Golden a couple weeks back, it’s no secret that RMASFAA has a rich, vibrant, and active training component. SI is widely regarded as one of the best (if not the best) training programs in the nation for financial aid professionals. In addition, I’m willing to bet that the theme of “80’s Music” will produce some of the best/worst conference photo albums in recent RMASFAA history. From all the feedback I’ve heard (Boulder sent 6 people- lonely week back here at the farm!) it was an incredible opportunity to train, network, and learn from the best in the biz. A huge congratulations to Rob Drybread and his committee for all their hard work and success!
Now that the big-fancy Summer Institute has concluded, it’s time for us to really begin preparing for this fall’s combined CAFAA/RMASFAA conference in the lovely vacation destination of Westminster! I kid- people don’t go to Westminster for vacation – well at least they shouldn’t (I mean, if you’ve seen Arvada, there’s really no comparison!) but this fall’s conference will be a fantastic joining of two very important groups.
RMASFAA and CAFAA are engaged, you see, and will finally be tying the knot on the exceptionally lucky-sounding October 13th 2015. I hope many of you will be able to join us for the stag night / hen night festivities, the rehearsal dinner, and of course, the main event – complete with wedding cake and a reception. The best part will be all the fantastic training; our awesome RMASFAA and CAFAA colleagues submitted really diverse and interesting session proposals – get excited! We’ll be releasing some agenda information in the coming weeks, and hope many of you will be able to join us in Westminster this fall for training, networking, and a little goofiness too (terrible bridesmaid dresses optional, but encouraged).
CAFAA is a fantastic group of committed professionals and it’s been a pleasure to serve y’all – looking forward to many more years of great memories together!
