Overview JOB SUMMARY CSU Global is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor I who supports the University mission by assisting students in understanding their financing options and account balances. This position is responsible for incoming and outgoing communication with students to help them to remain in good financial standing and to guide them through the account resolution process when necessary. This position is responsible for assisting new students in planning for and securing their financial aid to cover their program costs. An important part of this role is to proactively outreach to students to ensure students clear account issues so that they can remain in their courses. The Financial Aid Advisor I will manage a caseload of between 400 – 500 students between new and continuing students each term. This is a highly student focused role and superior customer service through phone and email interaction is key. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Support assigned student population through the Financial Aid process by providing accurate, consistent and complete information. Provide assigned outreach calls and conduct scheduled appointments with students to discuss financial aid packages and to help students understand student loan borrowing. Assist assigned student population with verification and professional judgment process and documentation. Explain any additional payment options including scholarships, employer reimbursement and tuition discounts. Ensure new and reentry students have submitted all required finance documentation and are financially prepared before the drop date of their first course. Review student files to determine what information is needed for completion. Review and approve or reject documentation received from new students. Make outgoing calls to assigned student population to collect payments and missing documentation prior to term start. Provide additional documentation to students based on needs (program cost, loan eligibility, loan history, degree plans and invoices) and assist with completion. Make outgoing calls to students to support students in making payments or payment arrangements on past due accounts for the assigned population. Provide outreach calls to students regarding return of funds based on Return to Title IV (R2T4s) calculations or refunds to Title IV aid. Follow up on documentation required after start date if an exception was approved, or student changed financing options. Ensure successful student handoff to correct resources of assistance such as disability services, enrollment services, student success counselors, etc. Other duties as assigned. At least one (1) year of Title IV federal financial aid advising or processing experience. Internal candidates – last performance evaluation rating at ‘meets expectations’ or higher. Additional Information TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS ● None. However, if the individual is located in the Denver Metro area, they may be asked to come on campus for occasional work. PHYSICAL DEMANDS ● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle or feel, and talk or hear. ● The employee is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms. ● Ability to spend long durations of the workday in front of a computer monitor. ● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. ● The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
