Denver College of nursing is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor – First Year Students

Job Description

The Financial Aid Advisor- First Year Students, helps incoming students with all aspects of receiving and understanding financial assistance programs to fund their nursing program at Denver College of Nursing (DCN). The position reports to the Director of Financial Aid.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide information and assistance regarding the various types of financial assistance available to students.
  • Assist students in completion of applications for all forms of assistance (i.e. Federal, Agency, Private Lender, Veteran Benefits, Employer, etc.).
  • Explain the rights and responsibilities of a federal student loan borrower and what payments will look like after graduation.
  • Perform data entry and file maintenance in Campus Vue, Etrieve, Docusign, ELM one, and NSLDS.
  • Perform both batch awarding and manual awarding for specific funds based on established procedures.
  • Packages new students using understanding of ISIR’s, c-code resolution, annual and aggregate loan limits, and Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used (LEU).
  • Perform highest level of customer service to students through consistent and regular communication.


Application Instructions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in financial aid; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations
  • High level of communication skills and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task



Classification:

  • The Financial Aid Advisor- 1st Year Students is a non-exempt, full-time position. This position may require night and weekends.



Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The Advisor must be able to use a computer and computer software, as well as other office equipment. This position requires physical mobility throughout the campus and lifting of no more than 10 pounds.
