Colorado College seeks applications for a Financial Aid Administrative Assistant.
Job Description
Provides excellent customer service in the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment; welcomes visitors to the office and works collaboratively with other members of the financial aid team to assist with various clerical functions within the office. Serve as the initial point of contact for admitted, current and prospective students and families and other individuals who have an interest in the college as well as greeting and assisting visitors to the office; prepare and deliver individual correspondence to families as directed; respond to requests for general information about the college’s financial aid policies and practices; manage the inventory of needed/requested office supplies; take and relay messages to the appropriate financial aid staff; advise and counsel applicants, students and parents regarding complex rules, regulations and procedures and their application and student account status; assist in solving complex application and student account issues in a timely manner. Assist with student employment and student account questions; assist with student employment and payroll forms intake. Track receipt of documents into the financial aid software system, PowerFAIDS. Receive outside scholarship checks track in PowerFAIDS; support with adjusting student financial aid awards accordingly to ensure the student is not over-awarded in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies. Process student advance requests, sibling enrollment verification requests, and outside scholarship enrollment confirmation requests. Assist Financial Aid staff with the completion of projects related to making general office operations more efficient and effectively communicated. Perform the process of data delivery to and from third party systems such as the federal Common Origination and Disbursement (COD), federal Central Processing System (CPS), and the US Department of Education. Update and maintain Financial Aid FAQ resource reference. Complete PowerFAIDS system QA tasks to keep awarding data and student information accurate. Assist office counseling team with reviewing and resolving subsequent ISIR submissions to CC Financial Aid Office. Organize and maintain complete student records files of documents received by upload, email, fax, and post; purge new graduate files and hard copies. Complete initial review of submitted student tax data to ensure that all forms are received. Develop, manipulate, and analyze large and complex data files using spreadsheets containing sensitive information extracted from confidential records; maintain a current working knowledge of state, federal, and college financial aid policies, regulations, laws, and industry best-practices; participate in ongoing professional development opportunities as directed.
