Job Description

This position provides oversight for all counseling services, outreach, and scholarships for the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships (OFAS), providing inclusive leadership of the Scholarships and Financial Aid Counseling Services units. The Director works closely with other campus departments towards development of strategic enrollment management services initiatives including recommending, establishing and administering procedures and policies related to the delivery of financial aid counseling services, outreach and communications to students in the most equitable way. This position leads the coordination and management of federal, state, institutional, foundation and private scholarship funds delivered to students at MSU Denver, as well as strategic development and implementation of scholarship funds as appropriate. The Director is part of the interdepartmental management team which reviews, develops, recommends, implements and monitors operating policies and procedures within the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships; for the allocation of student aid funding, development of communications and resources to students, integrated communication and outreach efforts and strategic delivery of institutional funding. The Director works as part of the OFAS Leadership Team to oversee the coordination, management and compliance of all federal, state, private and institutional student aid funds for MSU Denver. All duties require keeping current knowledge of federal and state regulations and office policies and procedures to ensure efficient processing and program compliance. Prepares and/or assists in preparing various federal, state, institutional and external agency fiscal, statistical and regulatory reports. The incumbent is responsible for the administration of over $15 million in scholarships sourced from federal, state, private and institutional aid. This position reports to the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Call Center. Metropolitan State University of Denver is an equal opportunity employer.
