Colorado State University

Colorado State University seeks applications for a Counselor, Client Services.

Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Access and Outreach, the financial aid counselor is a critical member of the Client Services team whose primary role is to communicate with students, parents, and applicants, and educational personnel in and outside of the University regarding financial aid, student billing, student employment, and tuition classification/residency. In working with constituents, the financial aid counselor must demonstrate strong customer service skills including efficiency, accuracy, organization, and tact. This position also works with the supervisor on office outreach and communication efforts, including participating in outreach events on-and off-campus. Colorado State University is excited to be launching a new “enrollment services one-stop” center. The new department, which will merge customer service for key elements of records, registration, student billing, financial aid, and housing/dining, is expected to be launched with the start of the 2024-25 academic year. This position is being initially hired within the Office of Financial Aid, but is slated for eventual transition to the enrollment services one-stop department. As part of CSU’s land-grant mission, OFA is committed to the principle of inclusive excellence. A successful candidate will share in our common goal to welcome, value and affirm everyone on our campus, embracing their various identities, skills, ideas, talents, and contributions. In addition, a successful candidate will equitably assist students in navigating the often complex and confusing financial aid process in support of access and success. This position is a full-time appointment, based on the CSU Fort Collins campus, with the potential for flexible work arrangements including hybrid office/remote work after a training period.
