Job Description

The Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations is responsible for the leadership, oversight, coordination and assessment of all systematic operations within the Financial Aid Office. This position is responsible for contributing to Community College of Denver’s quality customer service by efficiently managing Banner and other automated systems to assure accurate, effective and timely processing of student aid applications and documents. This position is responsible for continuous research and procedural changes that improve accountability, communication, work flow and efficiency of all office functions and represents the Financial Aid Office in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, offices and agencies with which this area interacts. This position assists the Director Financial Aid in fiscal budgeting, funds management and quality assurance measures in all areas of federal, state and institutional aid. It is this person’s responsibility to plan for future office needs and respond quickly and appropriately to changes in federal/institutional policy. They must keep the staff apprised of current and changing processes to consistently ensure federal and institutional regulatory compliance. This person overseas the operations of federal and state grants, federal and private loans, campus based aid, Return of Title IV Funds calculations, verification, document maintenance, ISIR dataload, parts of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), and office purchasing. This position works closely with the Colorado Department of Higher Education in the data transfer of the Colorado Application for State Aid (CASFA). This position assists the Director Financial Aid with internal auditing measures as well as the ability to plan for future office needs and responses to changes in federal/institutional policy. This position serves as the Secondary Destination Point Administrator for access to federal services provided to the intuition by NSLDS, COD and CPS as well as the Primary Security Officer for all financial aid roles assigned through the student information system Banner. This position is Second in Command of the Financial Aid Office and shares accountability and responsibility for CCD maintaining its Administrative Capability as required by Title IV regulation.
