Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director for Operations, the Assistant Director for Special Programs serves in a key leadership role for the Office of Financial Aid and the Operations Management Team. This position participates fully in administrative responsibilities for the department, which include: Interpreting, formulating, and implementing policy. Responding to needs of daily functions between Operations, Systems, and Client Services teams. Collaborating with Director and Leadership Team to provide vision and direction for the office, advancement of department, division, and University objectives, and responding to the needs of our constituents. The Assistant Director for Special Programs provides significant oversight and coordination for operational functions required to administer federal, state, and institutional financial aid. The position exercises oversight of special programs in financial aid, which include distance education, study abroad programs, non-degree certificate programs, articulation agreements, athletic scholarship, and student employment operations. The Assistant Director ensures that the Office of Financial Aid provides exceptional service to these highly varied activities with a focus towards innovation, efficiency, effectiveness, compliance, and in adherence to the mission and culture of Colorado State University. This is a twelve-month, full-time permanent position based on the CSU Fort Collins campus, with the potential for flexible work arrangements including hybrid office/remote work.
